The primary research areas:

- Development of discretization methods (FEM, FDM, BEM, meshless methods, in particular the adaptive versions) in order to improve the reliability and effectiveness of the analysis of selected mechanics, civil engineering and related area problems;

- Application of artificial intelligence methods (particularly of artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, and genetic algorithms) in mechanics and civil engineering;

- Analysis of complex problems of mechanics of materials, structural mechanics and multiphysics (modeling of nonlinear, time dependent, multiscale phenomena and processes);

- Development of effective methods for the numerical homogenization of heterogeneous materials;

- Development of methods for the analysis of inverse problems and the enhancement of measurement data;

- Software development (in particular code merging, parallel and distributed computing)
